“We had an amazing time. Matt Combs is an excellent, patient, fun and informed instructor. He’s very knowledgeable about his craft and we walked away with three beautiful crafts that we created with his oversight. We had a great time and highly recommend Matt and Eagle’s Nest Forge!” – Lance & Amanda
“So, delightful! What a fun and unique way to spend time and learn about a place” – Allison
“We got several of these beautifully crafted pieces for family members who use them daily and love them!” – Jill B.
“Matt Combs was a great teacher for our scout troop. He helped the scouts with the Metalwork Merit Badge, teaching them practical skills and a love for craftsmanship. Each scout learned about Blacksmithing and its history in different cultures. They participated in hands-on activities, improving their techniques and transforming raw materials into useful items. By the end of the class, every scout was excited to take home a unique item, proud of their new skills and the memorable experience” – Troop 157
“Eagles Nest Forge offers a wonderful educational experience for anyone who wants to try a true ‘Hands On’ process. Matthew adjusts his teaching level to the capabilities of his students comfort level to offer a unique experience into Forging. During the process, Matthew also shared historical references to how the blacksmith skill set changed throughout time . This forging experience takes a common used car part and in 3 hours, quickly turn the part into a work of art that can be shared or given to friends and family. The knife I created came from a car’s coil spring. This knife will be a gift to my father that we both will cherish. I highly recommend Eagles Nest Forging as a personal experience or a gift to others.” -Jack, New Smyrna Beach, Florida
